2026年3月21日(土)、ToriCoteが運営する国際ファミリーコミュニティCocoro Family のイベント「Matcha Picnic」が、久屋大通にあるテレビトーヒロバで開催されました。
Cocoro Familyが名古屋でイベントを開催するのは今回が初めて。
日本、アメリカ、フィリピン、香港、ベネズエラ、メキシコなど、様々な国にルーツを持つご家族が参加してくださり、色々な言語が飛び交うにぎやかなピクニックイベントとなりました！
この記事では、このイベントに込められた想いとともに当日の様子をご紹介します。
On March 21, 2026, Cocoro Family, the international family community operated by NPO ToriCote, hosted its “Matcha Picnic” event at TV Tower Hiroba in Hisaya-odori, Nagoya.
This was the first time Cocoro Family had organized an event in Nagoya.
Families with roots in Japan, the United States, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Venezuela, Mexico, and many other countries joined us, creating a vibrant and welcoming gathering filled with conversations in multiple languages.
In this article, we would like to share the story behind the event and some highlights from the day.
Cocoro Familyについて
Cocoro Familyは、NPO法人ToriCoteが運営する、国際ファミリーのためのコミュニティです。
・日本の子どもたちが、世界のさまざまな文化に出会える機会をつくること
・外国にルーツを持つ子どもたちが、日本文化に親しめる環境をつくること
・自分のルーツに誇りを持ち、安心して楽しめる場を育てていくこと
こうした取り組みを通して、親子が言語や文化の違いを越えてつながり、気軽に芸術文化に触れられる場をつくること、そして「安心してつながれる居場所」を地域の中に育てていくことを目指しています。
Cocoro Familyは2025年1月に一宮市の市民活動団体としてスタートし、同年10月にはNPO法人ToriCoteの親子サポート事業として活動を展開。現在は、地域に根ざしながら、国際的なつながりを育てるコミュニティとして、活動の幅を広げています。
Cocoro Family is an international family community operated by NPO ToriCote.
Our mission is to:
- Create opportunities for children in Japan to experience diverse cultures from around the world.
- Help children with international backgrounds connect with and enjoy Japanese culture.
- Foster environments where families can take pride in their roots and feel welcomed and supported.
Through these activities, we aim to create opportunities for parents and children to connect across cultural and linguistic differences, enjoy arts and cultural experiences together, and build a community where everyone feels they belong.
Cocoro Family was originally launched in January 2025 as a community organization in Ichinomiya City. In October of the same year, it became one of the family support initiatives of NPO ToriCote.
Today, the community continues to grow while nurturing both local and international connections.
イベント内容
当日は、快晴の青空のもと、テレビトーヒロバの開放的な空間で、ピクニックのリラックスした雰囲気の中、ゆったりとプログラムを行いました。
Under beautiful blue skies, participants gathered in the open-air setting of TV Tower Hiroba and enjoyed a relaxed picnic atmosphere throughout the day.
①自己紹介タイム
まずは、参加してくださった皆さま同士の自己紹介タイムからスタート！
お友だち同士でお越しくださった方や、SNSをきっかけに初めて参加してくださった方など、名古屋をはじめ愛知県内のさまざまな地域からご家族が集まりました。
「1日自由な時間があったら何をしたい？」というテーマをきっかけに会話も自然と広がり、子育て中ならではの悩みや思いに共感し合う場面も多く見られ、あたたかい交流の時間となりました。
We began with an introduction session, giving everyone a chance to get to know one another.
Some families attended with friends, while others discovered the event through social media and joined us for the first time. Participants came from various parts of Aichi Prefecture, including Nagoya and the surrounding areas.
As everyone shared answers to the question, “If you had a whole day completely free, what would you do?”, conversations flowed naturally. Parents exchanged stories, shared common challenges, and found comfort in connecting with others who understood the realities of raising children.
It was a warm and welcoming start to the day.
②サクソフォンのミニコンサート
次に、サクソフォンデュオによるミニコンサートを開催しました！
演奏は、ToriCote代表の袴田と、同じく一宮市出身でフランス留学経験を持つサクソフォニスト・堀江香奈子さん。
モーツァルトの「きらきら星」をはじめ、同じ作曲家による2本の楽器のための明るく軽快な作品を選曲し、春のピクニックにぴったりのプログラムをお届けしました。
子どもたちは、普段なかなか目にする機会のないサクソフォンに興味津々。
音楽に合わせて身体を動かしたり、まだ言葉を話せない小さなお子さまもじっと耳を傾けたりと、それぞれが音を楽しむ様子がとても印象的でした。
Next, families enjoyed a mini concert performed by a saxophone duo.
The performers were ToriCote representative Miho Hakamada and fellow saxophonist Kanako Horie, who is also from Ichinomiya and studied music in France.
The program included Mozart’s famous Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star variations and other bright, lively works for two instruments—perfect music for a spring picnic.
The children were fascinated by the saxophone, an instrument many of them had never seen up close before.
Some danced along to the music, while even the youngest children listened attentively. It was wonderful to see each child enjoying the music in their own way.
③抹茶＆和菓子体験
演奏を楽しんだあとは、いよいよお待ちかねの抹茶体験！
ToriCote理事の川野は、抹茶の会社での勤務経験を持つほどの大の抹茶ファン。この抹茶ピクニックも、そんな彼女のアイデアから生まれました。
当日は、茶道の経験をお持ちの参加者の方にもご協力いただきながら、みんなで抹茶の立て方を実践。
さらに、羽二重餅で知られる川村屋賀峯さんのお花見団子も楽しみながら、三色団子に込められた意味などもご紹介し、日本ならではの美味しい文化に触れるひとときとなりました。
After the concert came one of the most anticipated activities of the day: our matcha experience.
The idea for the Matcha Picnic originated from ToriCote board member Rikako Kawano, a passionate matcha enthusiast who previously worked for a matcha company.
With support from participants who had experience with Japanese tea ceremony, everyone had the opportunity to learn how to whisk and prepare matcha.
Families also enjoyed beautiful seasonal hanami dango (flower-viewing rice dumplings) from Kawamuraya Gaho, a traditional confectionery shop known for its habutae mochi.
As we tasted the sweets together, we shared the meanings behind the three colors of the dango and explored some of the traditions associated with Japanese springtime culture.
It was a delicious and meaningful way to experience a part of Japan’s cultural heritage.
④みんなで「さくらさくら」
お団子と抹茶を楽しんだ後は、日本の春を象徴する「さくらさくら」を、サクソフォンの演奏に合わせて全員で歌ってみました。
日本では誰もが知るこの曲ですが、今回初めて耳にしたというご家族もいらっしゃり、昔の言葉で紡がれた歌詞や旋律から、「日本のやわらかな春の情景が感じられた」といった感想もいただきました。
また、それぞれの国の春の歌を紹介し合う場面もあり、国ごとに違った季節の感じ方や文化を分かち合う、楽しい交流の時間となりました。
After enjoying matcha and sweets, everyone gathered to sing “Sakura Sakura,” one of Japan’s most iconic traditional spring songs, accompanied by live saxophone performance.
While the song is familiar to most Japanese participants, for some international families it was their first time hearing it.
Several participants commented that the melody and traditional lyrics beautifully captured the gentle atmosphere of spring in Japan.
The session also evolved into a cultural exchange, with families introducing spring songs from their own countries and sharing how the changing seasons are celebrated around the world.
It became a joyful opportunity to discover both similarities and differences across cultures.
⑤子育て相談・交流会
最後は、子育て中のリアルな悩みや、日々のストレス発散方法について参加者同士でシェアするフリータイム。
保育士の石垣が中心となり、それぞれのご家族に寄り添いながら、これまでの経験に基づいたアドバイスや意見交換が行われました。
「こういう場がほしかった」というお声も多くいただき、Cocoro Familyならではの、楽しみながら安心して気持ちを分かち合える時間となっていたように感じています。
We concluded the event with an informal discussion and networking session.
Parents shared everyday parenting challenges, talked about ways they manage stress, and exchanged ideas and experiences.
Led by childcare professional Chikako Ishigaki, the conversation created a supportive environment where families could openly discuss concerns and receive practical advice.
Many participants told us,
“This is exactly the kind of space we were looking for.”
It reminded us of how important it is to create opportunities where families can not only have fun together but also feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.
開催を終えて
改めまして、今回のイベントにご参加くださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。
Cocoro Familyを立ち上げて1年。少しずつではありますが、さまざまな国にルーツを持つご家族と出会い、一宮市から愛知県へとつながりが広がっています。
ToriCoteでは、今後も親子で楽しめる国際交流イベントや文化体験の機会を継続的に企画してまいりますので、どうぞお楽しみに！

It has now been one year since the launch of Cocoro Family. Little by little, we have had the opportunity to meet families from many different cultural backgrounds, and our connections have grown beyond Ichinomiya to communities throughout Aichi Prefecture.
At ToriCote, we will continue creating opportunities for international exchange, cultural experiences, and meaningful connections for families.
We look forward to welcoming you to our future events and continuing to build a community where families from all backgrounds can feel at home.
